FRESH PANIC IN KWARA AS GUNMEN ABDUCT WOMAN, SON IN NIGHT RAID

Fear has gripped residents of Ndeji village in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State after suspected bandits abducted a housewife and her son during a late-night attack.

According to community sources, the gunmen stormed the quiet rural settlement on Saturday night, firing shots into the air to scare residents before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.

Villagers said the attackers arrived under the cover of darkness, triggering panic as many residents fled their homes to avoid being caught in the assault.

“They came late at night and started shooting. People ran for safety, and before we realised what was happening, they had already taken a woman and her son,” a resident said.

The incident has heightened tension across communities in Edu LGA, where locals say kidnappings and bandit attacks have become increasingly frequent in recent months.

Residents are now appealing to the Kwara State Government and security agencies to urgently strengthen security presence in the area.

“We are living in fear. Authorities must come to our aid before the situation gets worse,” another community member lamented.

The latest attack follows a similar raid in Gbugbu community, also in Edu LGA, where suspected bandits reportedly killed two residents, abducted a trader identified as Rilwan Bello, and shot a young girl during an earlier invasion.

With attacks becoming more frequent, many villagers say they are now living in constant fear.
