Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that continued attacks on Iran could threaten both regional and global stability.
Erdogan raised the concern during a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, where both leaders discussed rising tensions following recent U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.
According to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate, Erdogan said prolonged military interventions could seriously damage peace and stability beyond the Middle East.
“Türkiye is closely monitoring the process that began with the attacks on Iran. If the interventions continue, they could cause significant harm to regional and global stability,” he said.
The Turkish leader also stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain possible, adding that Türkiye is committed to efforts aimed at building a platform for peaceful engagement.
Beyond the tensions, Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the United Kingdom, particularly in areas such as defence and strategic partnerships.
