CHINA MOVES TO CALM MIDDLE EAST TENSIONS

Beijing sends special envoy as U.S., Israel strikes escalate conflict with Iran.

China has announced it will dispatch Special Envoy Zhai Jun to the Middle East to help ease rising tensions following recent military strikes involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Beijing aims to maintain communication, intensify mediation, and build consensus among all parties.

“China is committed to encouraging restraint and promoting diplomatic solutions,” Mao said, stressing the country’s role in supporting broader international efforts to stabilise the region.

The envoy’s mission reflects China’s growing engagement in regional diplomacy amid escalating hostilities.
