The All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State, has marked International Women’s Day 2026 by celebrating women’s vital role in society and reaffirming its pledge to empower them across governance, business, and communities.
Spokesman Seye Oladejo said women are the backbone of families, the economy, and society, noting that successive APC administrations have expanded leadership roles, economic opportunities, and social protection programs for women.
“Women currently serve as commissioners, legislators, judges, and heads of agencies in Lagos. This reflects our belief that inclusive leadership strengthens governance,” Oladejo said.
He added that economic empowerment initiatives—microcredit, capacity building, cooperative support—have helped women entrepreneurs, traders, and artisans thrive, while social programs continue to protect vulnerable women, expand healthcare access, and promote girl-child education.
“On this International Women’s Day, Lagos APC celebrates the courage, resilience, and contributions of women and reaffirms its commitment to gender inclusion and empowerment,” he said.
