SALAH SCORES, BUT LIVERPOOL STUMBLE AGAINST BOTTOM CLUB WOLVES

Mohamed Salah finally ended his 10-game Premier League goal drought — but it wasn’t enough to save Liverpool from a damaging 2-1 defeat to Wolves at Molineux.

The loss is a serious blow to Liverpool’s Champions League hopes. The defending champions sit fifth with 48 points from 29 games, and could slip to sixth if Chelsea win on Wednesday.

Wolves, meanwhile, continue their revival under Rob Edwards. Late goals from Rodrigo Gomes and Andre turned a dull contest into a dramatic finish, sealing back-to-back wins over top-five sides after their weekend victory over Aston Villa.

Liverpool have now suffered nine league defeats this season — and another loss would mark their worst campaign in a decade. The two sides meet again Friday in the FA Cup fifth round at the same venue.
