PROTESTERS DEMAND FULL EFCC, ICPC PROBE OF EL-RUFAI, SEEK ₦432BN RECOVERY

Kaduna residents march to back anti-graft agencies and call for justice over alleged misappropriation.
Hundreds of Kaduna residents under the Nasiriya Movement took to the streets Thursday, urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to fully investigate former Governor Nasir El-Rufai and recover alleged misappropriated funds exceeding ₦432 billion.
National president Alhaji Garkuwa Ibrahim Babuga claimed thousands of workers were dismissed without entitlements under El-Rufai, leaving many in hardship, and warned protests could escalate to Abuja if investigations falter. Demonstrators carried placards urging transparency and accountability, while activists like Patience John called the probe “a crucial step toward justice and governance accountability.”
The group emphasized that EFCC and ICPC must trace, verify, and recover public funds to protect taxpayers’ money and uphold citizens’ rights.
