NEYMAR HITS BACK WITH BRACE TO REVIVE WORLD CUP HOPES

Written off by critics just days ago, Neymar answered in the only way he knows how — with goals.

The 34-year-old winger ended his goal drought in style, scoring twice in Santos’ 2-1 league win over Vasco da Gama — a performance that could reignite his push for Brazil’s World Cup squad.

Before Thursday’s clash, Neymar hadn’t scored since December and is still regaining full fitness after knee surgery. But he brushed aside the noise.

“Last week they said I was the worst player in the world. Today I scored two goals, and that’s what matters,” he told SporTV.

Brazil’s all-time leading scorer hasn’t played for the national team since October 2023 due to injuries, and coach Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear he will only select players who are fully match-ready.

With the World Cup set for June 11 to July 19 in Canada, Mexico and the United States, Neymar knows time is short — but this was a strong reminder of what he can still deliver.
