NDLEA SWEEPS KANO DRUG DEN, ARRESTS 19 AMID RAMADAN CRACKDOWN

Gezawa community sees major drug bust as authorities step up efforts for a safe Ramadan.

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Kano Strategic Command, has arrested 19 suspects and shut down multiple drug spots in Gezawa, seizing substances including cannabis, diazepam, pregabalin, and the street drug “Suck and Die” (Exol-5).

The operation, part of “Operation Ramadan Mubarak”, followed credible tips from community members and aims to safeguard public health during the holy month. NDLEA officials stressed that recovered drugs are in custody and investigations are ongoing.

State Commander Dahiru Yahaya-Lawal thanked the public for intelligence support, urging residents to continue reporting suspicious activities. He said the action aligns with directives from NDLEA CEO Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba-Marwa to sustain nationwide anti-drug efforts.

“Our goal is safe streets and a peaceful Ramadan. Offenders will be held accountable,” Yahaya-Lawal added.
