Governor calls for peace after deadly attacks.
Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has condemned the recent killings in Dorowa Babuje and Jong communities, where gunmen killed 10 people on Tuesday night, with four more dying during highway protests by angry youths.
Speaking after meeting state security chiefs in Jos, Mutfwang urged calm, warned mischief-makers and social media users against spreading fear, and reassured residents that Plateau remains largely safe and peaceful.
He praised security agencies for their proactive efforts and called on traditional and religious leaders to support government initiatives to maintain peace. Residents were also advised not to block highways, as such acts harm the state’s image.
