ISRAEL WARNS LEBANESE VILLAGES TO EVACUATE AHEAD OF STRIKES ON HEZBOLLAH

Southern Lebanon is on edge after Israel issued a rare and urgent evacuation warning.

The Israel Defense Forces on Monday advised residents in multiple villages across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley to immediately leave their homes ahead of planned strikes on Hezbollah targets.

In a statement, the military told civilians to move at least 1,000 meters away to open areas for their safety, stressing it does not intend to harm non-combatants. But it warned that anyone staying near Hezbollah members, facilities, or military equipment would be putting their lives at serious risk.

The warning follows Hezbollah’s rocket attack on a military site south of Haifa — the first such strike since a ceasefire between both sides began in November 2024. The Iran-backed group said the assault was retaliation for the killing of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei in U.S.-Israeli strikes on Tehran over the weekend.

With evacuation calls now issued and retaliatory strikes looming, fears are rising that the fragile ceasefire could fully collapse — dragging Lebanon deeper into the widening regional conflict.
