IRANIAN MISSILE HITS BEIT SHEMESH, 9 DEAD, DOZENS INJURED

A direct missile strike on a residential building in west Jerusalem has left Israel reeling.

At least nine Israelis were killed and 27 others injured after an Iranian missile slammed into a building in Beit Shemesh on Sunday, according to local reports.

The daily Yedioth Ahronoth, citing Israel’s ambulance service Magen David Adom (MDA), said four of the injured are in critical condition. Rescue teams are still combing through the rubble, with several people reported missing.

Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg said about 20 residents remain unreachable but cautioned that it does not automatically mean they were harmed.

The strike comes amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran. The U.S. and Israel had launched coordinated attacks on Iranian targets a day earlier, reportedly killing senior Iranian figures. Tehran responded with waves of drone and missile strikes.

The latest exchange echoes last June’s confrontation, which spiraled into a 12-day war before a ceasefire was reached.

With both sides trading blows again, fears are mounting over a broader regional conflict.
