FG APPROVES N21.68BN FOR NEW NAMA HQ IN ABUJA

Government says the project will modernise airspace management and boost aviation safety.

The Federal Government has committed over N21 billion to build the first phase of a new headquarters for the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) in Abuja.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, announced at the groundbreaking ceremony that the N21.68 billion contract was awarded to MESSRS NHD Interbiz Projects Ltd., with a completion timeline of 30 months.

Keyamo said the project aligns with Executive Order 12 and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at modernising aviation infrastructure and strengthening safety oversight.

According to him, the new complex will consolidate NAMA’s administrative and operational units into a purpose-built facility, integrating executive management offices with a state-of-the-art Air Traffic Management Centre.

He stressed that the procurement process followed strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act 2007 and promised that the contractor would be held to high standards of quality and timely delivery.

NAMA Managing Director, Mr. Ahmed Farouk, described the development as a foundation for the future of Nigeria’s air navigation services, pledging excellence and efficiency in delivery.
