Gerald Brown, once an elite U.S. Air Force instructor, faces charges over unauthorized defense training.
Former U.S. Air Force Gerald Brown, 65, was arrested in Indiana for allegedly providing military training to China without State Department approval, violating U.S. arms export laws. Prosecutors warned his actions could pose a “significant threat to national security.”
Brown’s military career included commanding nuclear-capable units and training American F-35 pilots. After leaving the service in 1996, he worked as a cargo pilot and civilian flight instructor for defense contractors.
He is set to appear before a federal magistrate judge on Thursday. China’s Foreign Ministry declined to comment.
