Major boost for Nigeria’s global image as NAN is chosen to deliver live coverage and international media reach for the 2026 World Public Relations Forum.
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has officially named the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as its digital and wire service provider for the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), positioning the agency at the heart of global communications for the landmark event.
The agreement was sealed in Abuja, with NIPR Acting President, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, describing the partnership as critical to showcasing Nigeria positively on the global stage.
Scheduled for Nov. 15 to 21, 2026, the forum—tagged “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World”—will attract top PR professionals, policymakers, and global leaders from 126 countries.
Dandaura said the event presents a rare opportunity to strengthen Nigeria’s international reputation and boost its economic and national image, especially after recent perception surveys rated the country poorly.
Under the deal, NAN will provide live digital coverage, distribute official content worldwide, and serve as the international media gateway for the forum.
NAN Managing Director, Ali Muhammad Ali, described the agency as a dependable partner with global reach through collaborations with major international news organisations, assuring maximum visibility for the event.
The forum will also host the African Public Relations Association AGM and mark the 25th anniversary of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management—further cementing Nigeria’s place at the centre of global PR conversations.
