CRAN APPLAUDS OLATUNJI DISU AS NEW INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE

Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria hails strategic appointment, highlighting Disu’s track record and expertise in tackling complex security challenges.

The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has congratulated Mr Olatunji Disu on his appointment as the new Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu. In a statement, CRAN described the move as strategic, merit-based, and anchored on Disu’s competence and proven performance.

The association highlighted Disu’s extensive experience: from leading Lagos’ Rapid Response Squad with intelligence-driven strategies, to managing complex operations as head of the Intelligence Response Team, and overseeing police commands in Rivers State and Abuja. His tenure strengthened investigative capacity, crisis management, and institutional discipline.

CRAN also noted Disu’s specialised training in areas including small arms, cybercrime, and strategic leadership, equipping him to confront emerging threats like terrorism, banditry, and organised crime. The association expressed optimism that his leadership will drive intelligence-led policing, modern technology deployment, and improved welfare for officers.
