ANAMBRA POLICE BOOST FIREPOWER, TRAIN 100 CONSTABLES FOR COMBAT OPERATIONS

Anambra Police step up tactical readiness as 100 newly trained constables undergo combat and armed drills to tackle rising security threats.

The Anambra State Police Command has intensified its security strategy, with Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu inaugurating 100 newly trained constables for specialised combat and armed drills.

The training, held at the Police College in Oji River, is part of efforts to prepare officers for swift, decisive, and lawful responses to emerging threats such as kidnapping, cultism, and violent crime.

Orutugu stressed that effective policing goes beyond numbers, requiring discipline, tactical skill, emotional intelligence, and respect for human rights.

He urged the officers to remain physically fit, mentally alert, and professional, noting that the drills would strengthen the command’s operational readiness and proactive policing efforts.

The police chief reassured residents of their safety, saying the command remains committed to protecting lives and property, while also thanking Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for supporting security initiatives.

According to him, the training marks a critical step in reinforcing police manpower and ensuring officers are fully equipped to confront modern security challenges.
