In a dramatic show of political loyalty, youths from Kogi State have already paid ₦100 million to secure President Bola Tinubu’s APC nomination form for the 2027 presidential election—three years ahead.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nantewe Yilwatda, revealed that the nomination form for President Bola Tinubu has already been procured, urging supporters and groups planning similar gestures to stop.
Yilwatda made the announcement after receiving a ₦100 million Zenith Bank cheque from Kogi youths, presented alongside Gov. Ahmed Ododo at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. He described the move as historic and patriotic, noting that it showed young Nigerians taking initiative rather than waiting for political favours.
According to him, the youths’ action was driven by their confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, citing improvements in the economy, enhanced security, and expanded opportunities for young people since he assumed office in 2023.
He praised the group for setting a new example of youth participation in politics, saying their bold step reflected belief in Tinubu’s ability to deliver more if re-elected in 2027.
Gov. Ododo also commended the President for creating opportunities for youths, saying many young Nigerians—including himself—had benefited from Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style.
The APC chairman described the gesture as unprecedented, adding that the party was proud to see youths actively supporting its vision for Nigeria’s future.
