BPP TO ENGAGE CONTRACTORS, STAKEHOLDERS IN LAGOS FOR PROCUREMENT REFORMS

Nigeria’s procurement system gets a boost as BPP calls key players to the table.

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) will host a consultative forum in Lagos to engage contractors, consultants, service providers, and civil society on improving Nigeria’s public procurement processes. The event, supported by the FCDO’s Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE), is set for Feb. 26 at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja.

Zira Nagga, BPP’s Head of Press, said the meeting will focus on the Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS) framework, aiming to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public sector procurement. Stakeholders will also have the chance to provide input on the development of a National Procurement Strategy.

Participants are expected to include government institutions, private-sector operators, professional bodies, civil society groups, and development partners involved in procurement oversight and service delivery. The forum is part of BPP’s ongoing capacity-building efforts to align procurement reforms with stakeholder roles across Nigeria.
