AUSTRALIAN PM EVACUATED AFTER SECURITY THREAT, RETURNS SAFELY

Anthony Albanese was briefly evacuated from The Lodge as AFP investigated a reported threat, but authorities confirm no danger to the public.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese returned to his official residence, The Lodge, Tuesday evening after being evacuated for around three hours following a reported security incident. The Australian Federal Police (AFP) responded promptly, conducting a full search and later declaring the area safe.

AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett noted that national security teams, established last October to tackle hate-driven and politically motivated threats, have charged 21 individuals across Australia since formation, amid a rise in threats targeting senior officials.
