APC CHAIR URGES GOVERNORS TO USE PARTY THINK TANK FOR TRAINING, POLICY SUPPORT

The APC is strengthening its intellectual backbone, with its chairman calling on governors to rely on the party’s think tank for research, training and policy guidance.

APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has urged governors elected on the party’s platform to patronise The Progressives Institute (TPI) for training, research and consultancy services.

Speaking in Abuja while inaugurating the institute’s Governing Council, Yilwatda said TPI was created to deepen the party’s ideological strength and promote research-driven governance.

He explained that the institute, unveiled in September 2024, serves as the APC’s intellectual resource centre and will help shape policy direction while strengthening governance capacity across APC-led states.

Yilwatda described the Governing Council as critical to achieving the institute’s vision of becoming a world-class policy and research hub, adding that his role as council chairman would ensure strong strategic backing from party leadership.

He also praised President Bola Tinubu for backing the creation of the institute, calling it a bold step toward building a premier political foundation in Nigeria.

The APC chairman appealed to party elders, governors and representatives to support TPI by outsourcing relevant services, noting that the institute was designed to operate independently while delivering top-quality policy support.

Director-General of TPI, Dr Lanre Adebayo, assured that the institute would uphold high standards and remain committed to advancing the party’s policy and governance objectives.
