Crackdown on narcotics: Police dismantle illegal drug dens in Itu LG, seize illicit substances.
The Akwa Ibom Police Command has busted illegal drug distribution points in Itu Local Government Area, apprehending 18 suspects. The raids, carried out in Oku Iboko and Mbak communities on Sunday, targeted active hubs fueling youth delinquency and violent crimes.
DSP Timfon John, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, said significant quantities of narcotics were recovered and investigations are ongoing to uncover more of the network. She urged residents to support police efforts with credible intelligence and warned that drug traffickers will face “the full wrath of the law.”
The command emphasized that intelligence-driven operations will continue across the state to curb criminal activities and safeguard communities.
