NSCDC ORDERS 24-HOUR SURVEILLANCE, BOOSTS SECURITY AT MOSQUES, CHURCHES IN KWARA

Worship centres and streets in Kwara are now under tighter watch as NSCDC rolls out round-the-clock patrols and intensified security measures to protect lives and critical assets.

Ilorin – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara has launched a sweeping security overhaul, introducing 24-hour surveillance across Ilorin and strengthened protection for mosques, churches, and key public facilities.

State Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, who recently assumed office, said the move followed directives from NSCDC Commandant-General, Prof. Ahmed Audi, to reinforce security operations and safeguard critical infrastructure. He assured residents that constant patrols were already in place, especially at night, and that security presence would remain visible across the state.

He also ordered full security coverage during Friday Jumu’ah prayers, Sunday church services, and other major religious gatherings, stressing that protecting worshippers was a top priority.

Bodinga confirmed additional personnel had been deployed to Kaiama following recent concerns, noting that the situation was now under control. He emphasized that collaboration with other security agencies was already underway, with intelligence sharing and joint operations forming a key part of his strategy.

The commandant further revealed that personnel were undergoing ongoing training in intelligence, VIP protection, and modern security operations to enhance their effectiveness. He pledged that under his leadership, the NSCDC would deliver stronger, proactive security across Kwara.

He urged residents to remain law-abiding and assured them that improved safety measures would soon be evident throughout the state.
