LAGOS PORTS BUZZ AS 17 SHIPS UNLOAD PETROLEUM AND CARGO

Lagos ports are alive with activity as dozens of ships discharge fuel and essential goods, keeping Nigeria’s supply chains moving.

Lagos, Feb. 21, 2026 – The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 17 ships are currently offloading petroleum products and other cargo at Apapa, Lekki, and Tin-Can Island ports. The vessels are discharging aviation fuel, diesel, bulk wheat, sugar, urea, cargo trucks, pallets, containers, and general cargo, keeping port operations busy.

Looking ahead, 38 more ships are expected between now and Feb. 27, carrying a mix of crude oil, petrol, bulk gas, food items, diplomatic cargo, containers, and other goods. Meanwhile, 10 ships that have already arrived are waiting to berth to discharge bulk urea, diesel, aviation fuel, crude oil, bulk wheat, and general cargo.

The NPA’s shipping position highlights the continued role of Lagos ports as a critical hub for Nigeria’s fuel and commodity imports, ensuring supplies reach businesses and households across the country.
