WAEC RELEASES 2025 CB-WASSCE RESULTS, 42% MAKE FIVE CREDITS INCLUDING ENGLISH, MATHS

Thousands of private candidates can now check their results online—but some scores remain withheld over malpractice and processing issues.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2025 Second Series Computer-Based WASSCE results for private candidates, with over 61,000 candidates already able to access their performance.

Out of 65,752 candidates who sat for the exam nationwide, 61,943 (94.21%) have had their results fully released, while 3,809 candidates still have some subjects being processed due to errors traceable to them.

Performance analysis shows that 27,727 candidates—representing 42.17%—secured at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics, the key benchmark for academic and career advancement. Overall, 51.69% earned five credits and above, with or without English and Maths.

However, WAEC withheld 1,899 results (2.89%) over suspected examination malpractice, with investigations ongoing.

Candidates can check their results via the WAEC portal and access digital certificates online, while hard copies can be requested through the council’s certificate platform.

A total of 69,604 candidates registered for the exam, including 235 candidates with special needs, highlighting WAEC’s continued push for inclusive and digital examination systems.
