Just when he secured bail from one anti-corruption agency, another stepped in—former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai is back in custody as investigations deepen.
Former Nasir El‑Rufai, ex-governor of Kaduna State, has been taken into custody by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over corruption allegations.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, El-Rufai was picked up Wednesday night shortly after he was released on bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he had spent two nights in detention.
ICPC spokesperson John Odey confirmed the development, saying the former governor is now in the commission’s custody for questioning linked to ongoing investigations.
Sources say El-Rufai met EFCC’s bail conditions before his release late Wednesday—but his legal troubles are far from over, as ICPC moves ahead with its own probe.
