RAMADAN RELIEF: KATSINA SUBEB BOSS DISBURSES N18M TO 727 INDIGENT RESIDENTS

Hundreds of vulnerable residents in Katsina receive cash support to cushion hardship ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Executive Chairman of Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Kabir Abdullahi-Gafia, has distributed N18 million to 727 indigent residents in Kaita LGA, in a major relief effort to ease financial pressure ahead of Ramadan.

The empowerment programme, held in Kaita town, targets vulnerable groups including the less privileged, persons with special needs, youths, and community stakeholders. Abdullahi-Gafia said the initiative was aimed at supporting residents and complementing the state government’s welfare drive.

Gov. Dikko Radda, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Faskari, praised the gesture, noting it would help cushion economic hardship and improve living conditions during the fasting period. He urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely and extend support to others in need.

The intervention reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen social support and ensure vulnerable citizens are not left behind during critical periods like Ramadan.
