APGA CLEARS ASPIRANTS FOR ANAMBRA LG POLLS, PRIMARIES SET TO BEGIN

Political momentum builds as APGA unveils chairmanship contenders ahead of crucial 2026 council elections.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has released the list of aspirants cleared to contest its chairmanship primaries ahead of the Aug. 29, 2026 local government elections in Anambra State.

The list, published at the party’s Awka secretariat, confirms that aspirants from all 21 local government areas successfully passed the screening process, qualifying them to compete for the party’s ticket.

According to APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ejimofor Opara, the clearance followed a thorough screening exercise conducted in line with party guidelines to ensure credible candidates emerge.

Notable cleared aspirants include Kingsley Ezeagu (Aguata), Ifeanyi Chinweze (Anambra East), Tony Obierika (Anambra West), Paulinus Okafor (Anaocha), ThankGod Anago (Awka North), and Chinedu Okafor (Awka South), alongside others across the state.

APGA reaffirmed its commitment to transparent, credible primaries, urging members to remain united and follow party rules as preparations intensify for the grassroots elections.
