New partnership aims to protect Nigerians from investment fraud and shady schemes.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Orientation Agency (NOA) are joining forces to launch a nationwide campaign against Ponzi schemes and other illegal investment operations.
SEC DG Dr. Emomotimi Agama said the collaboration will leverage NOA’s nationwide network to educate citizens about fraudulent schemes, which are growing daily and preying on unsuspecting Nigerians.
NOA DG Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu praised SEC’s efforts but stressed that many Nigerians remain unaware of legitimate investment options. He added that civic education is key to helping people make informed financial decisions.
The initiative underscores the commitment of both agencies to raise awareness, prevent fraud, and protect the public.
