RUSSIAN STRIKES KILL 2 AS UKRAINE ENERGY GRID TARGETED

Winter blackout woes deepen amid renewed attacks.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that two people died and 10 were injured after Russia launched 25 missiles and 219 drones targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Odessa, Dnipro, and other regions. Millions remain without electricity or heating amid freezing temperatures.

Zelensky called for more Patriot air defence systems and urged NATO members in the PURL arms programme to speed up support, stressing the urgent need to protect civilians and critical infrastructure.

Moscow confirmed strikes on Ukrainian military sites, while Ukraine launched retaliatory attacks on Russian facilities, including energy and military sites in Volgograd, Tambov, and Komi regions.
