Despite operational hiccups, Nigeria’s oil giant stays profitable.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced N60.5 trillion in revenue and N5.76 trillion profit after tax for 2025, according to its December report.
Average crude oil output was 1.54 million barrels per day, while natural gas production averaged 6,914 mmscfd, peaking mid-year at over 7,500 mmscfd. NNPC emphasized gas as a key revenue stabilizer for Nigeria’s energy transition.
Operational updates show strong pipeline performance: OB3 Gas Pipeline – 100% availability, AKK Gas Pipeline – 91%, and NNPC Retail – 65% station uptime. Planned upgrades and maintenance affected December production, but engineering milestones, including OB3 River Niger Crossing and AKK mainline works, were successfully completed.
NNPC’s focus on infrastructure, gas growth, and operational efficiency highlights its resilience amid security challenges and maintenance disruptions.
