Abuja commuters may soon ride in style!
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the three newly built bus and taxi terminals in Kugbo, Mabushi, and CBD will start operations once the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approves qualified private operators.
The terminals, built at ₦51 billion, were completed in 2025 but remain unused. Each terminal can handle over 10,000 passengers daily and accommodate 120 buses and taxis, creating at least 100 jobs per terminal. The CBD terminal will focus on intra-city travel, while future terminals are planned for Gwagwalada, Bwari, Kuje, and other strategic locations to reduce road congestion.
Wike assured that after FEC approval, operations would kick off, marking a major step toward modernising Abuja’s transport system.
