Government cracks down on illegal parks, overloading to cut crashes.
The Kano State Government (KNSG) says it is stepping up the modernisation of motor parks across the metropolis to deliver safer, more efficient transport services.
Speaking in Kano, the Commissioner for Transportation, Haruna Dederi, said the move is part of broader reforms to strengthen the sector, improve public safety and drive economic growth.
He revealed that a task force is already shutting down illegal motor parks, enforcing regulations, easing congestion and restoring order. The ministry is also clamping down on overloading, a key factor behind deadly road accidents.
Dederi urged residents and transport operators to play their part by obeying traffic rules.
