BOGIS LAUNCHES DIGITAL PORTAL FOR LAND APPLICATIONS

No more middlemen—Borno residents can now apply for land online with just a click.

The Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS) has unveiled an automated application portal that allows individuals to apply for land acquisition and documentation digitally.

Speaking in Maiduguri, BOGIS Executive Secretary Adam Bababe said prospective buyers can now apply for plots—whether low-density, high-density, or GRA standard size—through the portal without human interference from application to approval.

The system eliminates middlemen and streamlines the entire process. Applicants can use their National Identification Number (NIN) and, once their details are verified, land allocation is approved automatically at the click of a button.

Bababe added that the minimum cost for a low-density plot starts at N750,000, while GRA plots go up to about N4 million.

The digital innovation is expected to improve transparency, reduce costs, and make land acquisition in Borno more accessible.
