POLICE BUST DRUG DEN IN IBADAN, SEIZE CANADIAN LOUD

A tip-off pays off as detectives uncover a major stash of illicit drugs hidden in a residential apartment.

Police in Oyo State have intercepted a large consignment of illegal drugs in Ibadan, including 101 wraps of Canadian loud and nine bags of Indian hemp.

According to police spokesperson DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the drugs were recovered from an apartment on Abanise Street, Academy area, Olomi, following credible intelligence from a community partner. Detectives stormed the location, searched the apartment and its surroundings, and secured the substances as exhibits.

The suspect, Oluwadamilare, is currently on the run, but Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna has ordered a full-scale manhunt and intensified surveillance to track him down.

Haruna praised the collaboration between the police, other security agencies and local stakeholders, saying it was key to the successful operation.
