FCT minister says new roads will boost trade, ease traffic, and improve living standards
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has assured that ongoing major infrastructural developments in satellite towns like Karu, Bwari, Kubwa, and Apo-Karshi will significantly stimulate local economies and enhance residents’ quality of life.
Speaking after inspecting road projects, Wike highlighted that roads in Karu have been fully reconstructed by an indigenous contractor, while the Apo-Karshi Road, delayed since 2010, was re-awarded to SCC to ensure timely completion.
He also noted that the Bwari–Kubwa Road and Gbazango–Kubwa Road will ease traffic congestion and open new avenues for commerce along key trade routes. Wike linked the projects to President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda”, aimed at spreading development beyond Abuja’s city centre.
“These massive infrastructural developments will transform the economy of the satellite towns, make life easier, and bring happiness to residents,” Wike said.
