Troops strike back, restore safety in North-West and North-Central Nigeria.
The Nigerian Army has rescued 26 kidnapped victims and disrupted multiple terror plots across the North-West and North-Central in the past 24 hours.
A military source told NAN that in Kaduna, seven abducted persons were freed in Kajuru LGA after troops engaged kidnappers, neutralising one terrorist and recovering three stolen motorcycles.
In Katsina, a 15-year-old girl kidnapped from Gidan Bajini village was rescued unharmed in Kankara LGA, while in Sokoto, 12 hunters and civilians were freed in Kadida village, Tangaza LGA, with one injured person evacuated to hospital.
Troops also foiled a terrorist attack on Kangiwa Correctional Centre in Arewa LGA, forcing gunmen to flee after assaulting a correctional officer and burning a patrol vehicle. Weapons and ammunition were recovered, and security has been reinforced.
The source added that ongoing operations continue to dismantle criminal networks, rescue victims, and restore confidence in affected communities.
