LAGOS-CALABAR HIGHWAY: A GAME-CHANGER FOR SOUTHERN ECONOMY

Former lawmaker backs Tinubu’s mega-road, calls critics “misleading.”

Ex-House of Reps member, Oghene Egoh, has hailed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a vital infrastructure project set to boost trade, business, and connectivity across the South-West, South-South, and South-East.

Egoh dismissed claims that the 700km highway is wasteful, describing such criticism as unfounded. He highlighted that the road will:

Enhance socio-economic activities and trade interactions.

Create jobs and increase internally-generated revenue for affected states.

Connect Lagos to Calabar via Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom.

Egoh also praised President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to infrastructure and economic reforms, noting that other key road projects linking Lagos to northern Nigeria are ongoing under his administration.

The highway is expected to physically link western and south-eastern Nigeria, fostering regional integration and boosting business efficiency.
