FOREST GUARDS BUST KIDNAP GANG, FREE 3 FARMERS IN KOGI

Swift action, gun recovered, victims safe — forest operatives tighten the noose on kidnappers along Abuja–Lokoja road.

Forest security operatives in Kogi have foiled a kidnap attempt along the Abuja–Lokoja expressway, rescuing three abducted farmers and recovering an AK-47 rifle with 22 rounds of ammunition.

The Nigeria Forest Security Services (NFSS) said the rescue followed a distress call from an eyewitness, triggering a rapid response. Operatives engaged the kidnappers, overpowered them, and forced one suspect to flee, abandoning his weapon.

The rescued farmers were reunited with their families in good health, while the rifle and ammunition were handed over to the Lokoja Local Government chairman as directed.

NFSS says the hunt is still on for the fleeing suspects, vowing to keep pressure on criminal gangs terrorising rural communities and major highways in the state.
