UNAA calls for “Dialogue Over Division” to strengthen global peace.
The United Nations Association of Africa (UNAA) has urged world leaders to intensify peace dialogues and conflict prevention efforts, marking the 2026 International Day of Human Fraternity on February 4.
Amb. Victor Asije, UNAA’s Director of Peace, Security, and Conflict Prevention, stressed that dialogue must replace division, biases, and prejudice, noting that global peace remains elusive but achievable.
“As nations, communities, and individuals, we must prioritise diplomacy over conflict and commit to result-oriented peacemaking,” Asije said, highlighting the day’s theme: “Dialogue Over Division.”
He called on governments, peace-loving organisations, and citizens worldwide to foster mutual understanding, coexistence, and fraternity, stressing that the world is one interconnected human family.
UNAA pledged continued collaboration with governments and communities to advance both continental and global peace.
