Security beefed up as authorities enforce lawful directives in Onitsha.
The Anambra Police Command has pledged to maintain public order and enforce lawful directives across the state, especially following Governor Soludo’s indefinite closure of Onitsha markets.
Police spokesman SP Tochukwu Ikenga said CP Ikioye Orutugu visited Onitsha to oversee security deployments and reassure residents, traders, and commuters of their safety.
“The commissioner is supervising police-led joint security forces to prevent any breach of public order,” Ikenga said, noting that the situation in Onitsha remains calm.
