VANGUARD DUMPS CHAIRMAN OVER ADC SWITCH

Political lines are being redrawn in Katsina.

The Katsina Restoration Vanguard has flatly disowned its chairman, Almustapha Abdu-Saulawa, after he defected from the APC to the ADC, saying the move was purely personal and taken without the group’s consent.

Leaders from Daura, Funtua and Katsina senatorial zones say the Vanguard—founded by former governor Aminu Masari—remains firmly with the APC and the current administration of Gov. Dikko Radda. According to them, Abdu-Saulawa’s action doesn’t reflect the group’s stance and he is no longer recognised as chairman.

They insist the Vanguard will continue under new leadership, noting that only two of 14 zonal chairmen followed the defection. Members were urged to stay calm, united and focused on the group’s original mandate.
