Big reforms start with the people in the classroom.
The Federal Government has announced the Nigeria Teachers’ Summit 2026, a two-day event aimed at putting teachers at the heart of education reform. Slated for Tuesday and Wednesday in Abuja, the summit will focus on boosting teachers’ welfare, professionalism, teaching quality and learning outcomes.
Themed “Empowering Teachers, Strengthening the System,” the gathering will bring together teachers, policymakers, lawmakers, development partners, civil society, parents, the private sector and the media.
Highlights include a keynote address by First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, special remarks by Education Minister Dr Tunji Alausa and Minister of State Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, plus national awards for outstanding teachers across the six geopolitical zones.
The summit will also unveil the Edurevamp Online Teacher Professional Development Portal, designed to expand access to continuous training and career growth.
