TINUBU OKAYS KEY DIPLOMATIC POSTINGS TO U.S., U.K., FRANCE

Nigeria’s foreign missions in three global power centres are about to get new faces.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of three ambassadors-designate to the United States, United Kingdom and France, drawing from the 68 nominees earlier cleared by the Senate.

According to a statement by Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Ambassador Ayodele Oke will head Nigeria’s mission to France, while Col. Lateef Are is set to represent Nigeria in the United States. Former envoy to South Korea, Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, has been named High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Tinubu has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally notify the host countries, in line with diplomatic protocol—clearing the way for the envoys to resume duty.

Nigeria is moving to strengthen its diplomatic presence in key global capitals.
