KADUNA KIDNAPPINGS: CHRISTIAN LEADERS DECLARE 2-DAY FASTING OVER ABDUCTED WORSHIPPERS

After 163 worshippers were kidnapped from churches in Kajuru, Southern Kaduna’s Christian leaders are turning to prayer—and demanding action.

Christian leaders in Southern Kaduna have declared a two-day fasting and prayer programme following the abduction of 163 worshippers from three churches in Kurmin Wali community, Kajuru LGA, Kaduna State.

Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), Apostle Emmanuel Kure, said the fast begins Friday and will end with special prayers in churches across Southern Kaduna on Sunday.

According to him, the move is a united spiritual response, calling on God for mercy, protection and the safe return of the abducted worshippers, while also showing rare unity across Christian denominations.

Beyond prayers, the association urged the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to step up efforts to secure the victims’ immediate release and end the repeated cycle of kidnappings in the area.

“We will not be silent in the face of evil, and we will not lose hope,” Kure said, stressing the need for accountability and concrete security action.

Faith leaders are praying—but they also want urgent results.
