Brace for hazy skies and sudden showers!
Abuja, Jan. 21, 2026 – The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has warned of dust haze and thunderstorms across Nigeria from Thursday to Saturday. Northern states like Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kano, Bauchi, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, and Taraba will experience sunny and hazy skies, while slight dust haze may affect parts of Nasarawa and Plateau.
The southern region can expect sunny skies with morning or afternoon thunderstorms over Bayelsa, Cross River, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Abia, Imo, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom.
NiMet urged caution for people with respiratory conditions, careful driving during rains, and advised airline operators to check airport-specific weather updates.
