Swift action on waterways pays off. Nigerian troops under Operation UDO KA have safely received eight rescued kidnap victims handed over by the Cameroonian Armed Forces along the Ikang waterways. The victims had been abducted by suspected sea pirates while traveling from Nigeria to Cameroon but were freed following a gun battle with Cameroonian forces.
Meanwhile, in Abi LGA, Cross River, troops also nabbed a suspected gunrunner, Ojo Friday, recovering 245 rounds of ammunition. Investigations show he hails from Ochon, Obubra LGA, but resides in Ebonyi State. He is now in military custody.
The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to offensive operations across the region, targeting criminals and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
