Nigeria’s Super Eagles have made the nation proud again, securing the bronze medal at the 2025 AFCON with a commanding win over Egypt.
NOC President Habu Gumel praised the team’s grit and mental toughness, noting their strong comeback after a tough semi-final loss. “The Super Eagles have once again showcased the famous ‘never-say-die’ Nigerian spirit against Africa’s top sides,” he said.
Gumel highlighted Coach Eric Chelle’s leadership in transforming the squad into a more clinical, disciplined, and confident unit, cementing Nigeria’s status as a continental football powerhouse. He also expressed optimism about an exciting new era for Nigerian football.
