ILORIN SHUTS DOWN TO HONOUR BELOVED CHIEF IMAM

Ilorin stood still as thousands thronged the Emir’s Palace to bid farewell to Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, the late Chief Imam of Ilorin, whose life of faith, learning and service touched generations.

Led by the Imam Imale of Ilorin, the emotional funeral prayers drew scholars, traditional rulers and dignitaries from across Nigeria, with security stretched by the massive turnout. The 75-year-old cleric, who served as Chief Imam for over 40 years, was widely remembered for his humility, deep scholarship and unwavering commitment to peace and unity.

As prayers ended, one message echoed across Ilorin: a giant of faith has departed, but his legacy lives on.
