Imagine walking into a “clinic” only to find out it’s run by a quack. That’s the scare police say they just stopped in Ore, Ondo State.
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Idris Nasiru, for allegedly running an illegal medical clinic in Ore/Odigbo LGA. The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by the police surveillance team.
According to police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, officers recovered injection needles, drips, bandages and other medical items from the suspect’s shop, while further searches of his residence uncovered used syringes and injection bottles.
Preliminary findings showed the suspect is not a registered medical practitioner, confirming the clinic was operating unlawfully. He is currently in custody and will be charged to court after investigations.
Police have urged residents to be cautious when seeking medical care and to report suspicious activities, assuring the public of continued efforts to clamp down on medical-related crimes.
