Even in defeat, Brahim Díaz gave Moroccan fans plenty to cheer about.
The Atlas Lions forward has clinched the Puma Golden Boot at AFCON 2025, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals in front of his home crowd in Rabat.
Díaz was on fire from start to finish — scoring against Comoros, Mali, and twice versus Zambia in the group stage, before continuing his run in the knockouts with goals against Tanzania and Cameroon.
The Real Madrid attacker scored in five different matches, a rare feat at AFCON, setting a new Moroccan record for consistency at the continental finals. His performance also backed up his form in the qualifiers, where he finished as top scorer.
Though Morocco fell short in the final, Díaz’s influence was undeniable — and the Golden Boot sealed his place among AFCON’s elite.
